Those of you who know me in real life know that my children are not actually named Dee, Sunshine, Curly Sue, Little Princess, Lil’ Adventurer and Curious George. Hopefully if I have any readers who don’t know me in real life, you figured that out, too.
Most of my children are happy with their names. The boys couldn’t care less, and in fact they probably have no idea what I am talking about when I talk about them. Little Princess chose her name. Dee was okay with her name. But the middle two….they have been less than happy with my monikers for them. So I agreed to do a poll.
Curly Sue would prefer to be called Gladys Mae. She was born on her maternal Great Grandmother’s birthday…the original Gladys Mae. I happen to like Curly Sue. It suits her. Don’t you think so?
Sunshine is Sunshine because she has been my sunshiny girl since the day she was born. She was always a bright light–my outgoing extrovert who doesn’t have to try to make friends. Even as a baby she was bubbly and outgoing and just so….sunshiny. Sunshine doesn’t like that I called her Sunshine. She would prefer to be called Star Child. Other than making me think she belongs in a 70’s movie, I just don’t like it. Doesn’t she look like Sunshine to you?
So now, a poll. Which names do you, faithful reader, prefer?

I’m voting with the kids. If their escapades are going to be eternally documented on the internet, they should at least have a say in what they are called. 😉

I agree with Linda. Sorry, Andrea but the girls should have a say in their names. I am not thrilled with Starchild either, but you have to admit that the sun is a star, right?

Sunshine and Star Child are somewhat the same, aren’t they? The star reflects the sunshine, in fact the sun is a star. It’s all about light and God is light and we should walk in the light as He is in the light! blah, blah, blah….could make this soooooo spiritual.
As for, Gladys Mae, with family first, how could you deny a desire to honor a great grandmother?
